Special Educational Needs and Disability Tribunal (Fee Paid)

NIJAC is inviting applications for Legal Chairman (3 positions) for the Special Educational Needs and Disability Tribunal.

The Special Educational Needs and Disability Tribunal (SENDT) considers parents’ appeals against the decisions of the Education Authority about children’s special educational needs. It also deals with claims of disability discrimination in relation to children at school.

It is intended to make 3 appointments and to maintain a reserve list for 12 months from the anticipated date of first appointment 5 August 2024.

Eligibility:

To be eligible for appointment applicants need, by 5 August 2024, to have at least seven years’ standing as either a Barrister called to the Bar of Northern Ireland, or Solicitor of the Court of Judicature of Northern Ireland. 

Salary/Fee: The fee paid is £542.38 per day, £271.19 per half day and £542.38 per day for training.

Closing date: Monday 29 April at 12 noon.
