His Majesty the King has appointed Mrs Laura Ievers KC, Mr Ciaran Moynagh and Mrs Catherine Chasemore as a County Court Judge in Northern Ireland. The Judges were sworn into office before Dame Siobhan Keegan, the Lady Chief Justice of Northern Ireland on Thursday 4 September 2025.
Mrs Laura Ievers
Mrs Laura Ievers graduated from Trinity College Dublin in Law in 1996 and obtained a certificate in professional Legal Studies from Queen’s University Belfast in 1997. Mrs Ievers was called to the Bar of NI in 1997 and took silk to the Bar of NI: Kings Counsel in 2024.
Mr Ciaran Moynagh
Mr Ciaran Moynagh graduated from the University of Ulster, School of Law with a degree in Law and Marketing in 2007. He then went on to graduate from Queen’s University Belfast with a master’s in criminal justice in 2008. Mr Moynagh completed his certificate in Professional Legal Studies in 2010 and was subsequently admitted to the roll of Solicitors in NI. In 2015 he was admitted to the roll of Solicitors in England and Wales.
Mrs Catherine Chasemore
Mrs Catherine Chasemore graduated from the University of Exeter with a Degree in Law in 2003 and obtained the Bar Vocational Qualification from the Nottingham Law school in 2004 and was subsequently called to the Bar of England and Wales. Mrs Chasemore was then called to the Bar of Northern Ireland in 2013.
