Ms Noelle McGrenera QC

Career/Experience:

Ms McGrenera QC was educated at Queen’s University, Belfast. She was called to the bar in 1978 and took Silk in 1999. She served as Chairperson of the Executive Council of the Inn of Court of Northern Ireland and Bar Council of Northern Ireland from 2006-2008.

From 2008-2012 she served as Co-Chair of the Forum for Barristers and Advocates of the International Bar Association and during that period also served as Co –Chair of the International Council of Barristers and Advocates.

In 2014 she served as Treasurer of the Inn of Court of Northern Ireland.

In September 2014 she became a Fellow of the International Academy of Trial Lawyers and a Fellow of the International Association of Barristers.

In October 2015 she was made an Honorary Bencher of the Honorary Society of Middle Temple.

Her main areas of practice are in Employment and Family Law.

Period of First Appointment:

Ms McGrenera QC was appointed as a Commissioner in the Northern Ireland Judicial Appointments Commission for a four year term from 12 November 2018 to 11 November 2022.

A daily rate of £338 and a half-day fee of £169 (4 hours or less) are payable. An hourly rate is payable for Commission activities other than attendance at scheduled meetings and attendance at training, conferences, outreach and diversity events.

Other Public Appointments Held:

In 1993 Ms McGrenera QC was appointed as a Deputy County Court Judge. A daily rate of £630.90 is payable for this office.
