Career/Experience

Mr Doyle was educated at the University of Ulster, Harvard University and Warwick University. Mr Doyle holds a Master in Business Administration, a post Graduate Certificate in Strategic Leadership and is a Chartered Member of the Institute of Personnel and Development.

He has extensive senior management experience in the public sector for the past 33 years and was an Assistant Chief Fire Officer with the Northern Ireland Fire and Rescue Service.

He has served on Cookstown District Policing partnership as independent vice chair and is a Lay Magistrate.

He was awarded the Queens Fire Service Medal (QFSM) in 2009.

In 2022 he was appointed as an Associate at His Majesty's Inspectorate of Constabulary and Fire & Rescue Services (HMICFRS).

Period of First Appointment:

Mr Doyle was appointed as a Commissioner in the Northern Ireland Judicial Appointments Commission on 17 June 2013 and ended 16 June 2018. He has subsequently been appointed for a further five year term from 12 November 2018 to 11 November 2023.

A daily rate of £338 and a half-day fee of £169 (4 hours or less) are payable. An hourly rate is payable for Commission activities other than attendance at scheduled meetings and attendance at training, conferences, outreach and diversity events.
