Dr Martin is a retired occupational therapist and educator with substantial experience in the areas of education, regulation and health. Dr Martin has served on a number of UK and NI Public Bodies including the General Medical Council where she chaired the Fitness to Practise committee that led to the new Medical Practitioner’s Tribunal Service. Dr Martin also worked for the Council of the Inns of Court (London) where she helped to establish the new Bar Tribunal Adjudication Service to oversee the Fitness to Practise of barristers.

Period or Appointment

Dr Martin was appointed on the 13 May 2021 for a four year term. A daily rate of £338 and a half day fee of £169 (4 hours or less) are payable. An hourly rate £42.25 is payable for Commission activities other than attendance at scheduled meetings and attendance at training, conferences, outreach and diversity events.
